The international mammalogical meetings bring together mammalogists
from all regions of the world. Previously, this international event has
taken place in Japan, South Africa, Mexico, Australia, Canada, Finland,
Checkoslovakia, and USSR.
This is the first time that the IMC will take place in South America,
specifically in Argentina. It is our deep and sincere wish to bring together
the broadest diversity of studies and investigators in the field of
mammalian zoology. We aspire to provide an ideal forum for the
stimulating exchange of ideas and promotion of integrative and
collaborative research among the members of our broad scientific
community. In addition, this will be an extraordinary opportunity to
promote and consolidate the growing number of South American
mammal societies.
Mendoza is located in the Andean foothills and has a wide variety of
ecological areas. There are diverse and marvelous local activities and
trips. The city of Mendoza is well connected, both by air as well as bus.
